Fruit
Fruit is hands down one of the healthiest choices of snacks you can give to your kids, and there are many different ways to serve it. Homemade fruit cups and fruit smoothies are two great examples. Apples, oranges, grapes, and other fruit can easily be sliced up and tossed into a bowl for a sweet, healthy snack. Smoothies can be easily prepared at home with fresh fruit (such as bananas and strawberries), plain yogurt, and low-fat milk.
Cereal
Cereal can be a very healthy snack for kids. Unfortunately, many brands that are marketed towards children these days are loaded with sugar to make them more appealing. A few examples of healthy cereals are the original Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Life. Cereal is a great source of calcium and fiber.
Cheese
Cheese is not only a great source of calcium, but can be prepared in countless different ways. A couple popular cheese snacks are string cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches made with whole-wheat bread.
Granola Bars
A granola bar is an excellent choice for a nutritious, energizing snack. Just be sure to watch out for brands that use contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and other unhealthy ingredients in their products. Kashi is an example of a brand that makes healthy granola bars that taste great.
