The Market Basket Foundation recently presented a $10,000 donation to McNeese State University Foundation for Market Basket scholarships. This donation is the first contribution we’ve made in an effort to further our dedication to the community.
The Market Basket Foundation was created with the purpose of giving back to local schools and continuing education programs in an effort to enrich the lives of people in our community. Currently the Market Basket Foundation is directing its proceeds from two golf tournaments per year to the educational scholarship foundations at McNeese State University and Lamar University.
“Since one of our core values is heavy community involvement, we are highly motivated to give back to the people that have supported us for over 50 years. ” says Market Basket President, Skylar Thompson.
An important part of our overall company mission here at Market Basket is to improve and enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve as well as create positive change with our company. With the start of this foundation, we hope this is another positive change we can make as we evolve as a company.
