If you want to make healthier eating choices at home, be sure to organize your refrigerator so that healthy foods are the first ones you see.
Use clear containers for storing fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy snacks. Visible snacks like boiled eggs and yogurts should be placed eye-level and easy to find. When you open the fridge, it’s easy to spot these items and helps create a desire to choose these foods first. Higher calorie snacks such as cakes and pies can be kept in colored containers which are not easy to see when opening the refrigerator. Stick to the old saying “out of sight, out of mind”.
If you are trying to increase your water intake, consider keeping a clear pitcher of water, easily visible when opening the refrigerator. Add fresh lemons, limes, berries, or mint to your water to make it more refreshing and tasty.
