National Nutrition Month is a terrific month to promote healthier meals at home. The Academy of Dietetics has many handouts and games available to help parents teach healthy eating tips to kids. Visit eatright.org for helpful and fun learning tools. Kids can color, draw, play crossword puzzles and learn the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. As kids began to learn, bring these handouts to the grocery store when shopping, and let kids choose their own fruits and veggies. By involving kids in the selection and purchase of foods, they are much more likely to eat these foods!
