The Best Vegetables to Purchase January – March
At Market Basket, look for these vegetables in season now through March: beets, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, arugula, greens, kale, lettuces, asparagus, bok choy, sweet potatoes, radishes, cilantro and parsley. Arugula is most often used as a salad green, and has a peppery taste, which adds variety to salads. Baby kale, beets, and spinach are terrific to add to green smoothies for all the rich vitamins found in each – potassium, vitamin C, vitamin k, vitamin E, and vitamins b, and iron.
