After you purchase delicious Washington State Cherries, here’s how to store them at home. Store your cherries in the refrigerator as soon as you get home; cherries lose freshness quickly at room temperature. Wait to wash your cherries just prior to cooking or eating them; this will help prevent them from spoiling – also leave them stems on until ready to eat. Place the cherries in plastic storage bags, or an air-tight container, or wrap well in plastic storage wrap to store in the refrigerator. Cherries also freeze well, with or without the stems left on. It’s cherry season; don’t forget to bring some of these low-calorie, sweet and delicious fruits home, on your next supermarket shopping trip to Market Basket!
